A problem with msn

Hello, I have a problem with my version of msn. I can't send messagers and jaws won't read them. If, for example I type something and use my backspace key, jaws won't say the letters. Even when I use my jaws curser, it won't read what the other person has typed or what I've typed. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

depends, what version of jfw and messenger you have, as well as what windows are you running. If, you are running msn 6.2 or 6.0 then you need windows xp home edition, and jaws 5.0. This works for most users. Else, I apologize because i don't know where to get the msn scripts, maybe if you google it that could help you.

if you are running windows xp you can use windows messenger as opposed to msn messenger and that should solve the problem for ya.

you can get scripts for jaws and msn at: www.jfwlite.com

And if all this doesn't work you can try using another client that supports the MSN protocol, for example pixamsn, which is very accessible, or miranda, which supports various protocols and has more features than pixamsn, but is a bit harder to get used to.

Win messenger is pretty much the same thing, so I would try that with your particular version of jfw, because it works fine with it, and I speak from experience having used it with jfw4.51.

as far as i no jfw 4.51 doesn't work with msn 6. try msn 5 or windows msger.

Hello all, a question. After I have downloaed windows messanger, would I have to add my msn contacts again? Regards. bfn

Post 13 by elmira (Veteran Zoner) on Saturday, 09-Jul-2005 16:09:09

No, you just install it and sign in, and after that all your contacts will be available.

The only time you need to re-add your contacts is if you get a new hotmail account or .net passport.

Hello, where can I get windows messanger? I tried the jfwlite website but every time I enter on the link to download it, something called instint finder comes up. Thanks.

Do you know if Windows Messenger might have already came with your computer? It's that it did with mine, so I'm just wondering if it would've already come with the Windows XP system.?

I had windows messenger on my com[puter and it still the only program I use I just have a strange problem with jfw 6.2 and that it won't read every incoming message. After about 4 or 5 messages it just says blank and I have to close the window and start from scrach or just press f 6 and both are a pain.
